Local SEO in Czechia: Google and Mapy.cz
Where Czech customers look, and what to put in each place.
· 3 min read

When someone nearby needs a plumber, a dentist or a lunch, they open a map. In Czechia that’s often Google, but also Mapy.cz. Both belong to different companies, and they don’t share your details. If you’re only right in one, you lose the other’s customers.
Three places that matter
- Google Business Profile. It feeds the map results and the box at the top of the search page. Claim it, choose the right main category, add services, hours, special dates and photos.
- Mapy.cz. The map from Seznam, a Czech company. Check that the pin is on the entrance, not the street, and that the opening hours are current.
- Firmy.cz. The Czech business directory, also from Seznam. It feeds listings on Seznam’s search and maps, so a wrong entry spreads.
Keep your name, address and phone the same
Write them the same way everywhere: the same company name, the same street format, the same phone number. Small differences confuse people and the systems that gather business data.
Reviews
Ask every customer you’ve done good work for. Make it easy: a link in an invoice e-mail, a card at the counter. Reply to every review, the bad ones as carefully as the good. Never buy or write reviews; platforms remove them and customers can tell.
Three common mistakes
- A profile claimed by someone who left the company.
- Opening hours that don’t mention holidays.
- Different phone numbers on the website and in the listings.
